X-EUROPE released

Now the brandnew X-EUROPE for X-Plane 11 is released and ready to download, test and discover. I’ve made some screenshots with the release version 1.0:

You will find the download under XP11 sceneries.

X-EUROPE on final approach

More than 500 hours of work, plus work of my core team members (thanks to Axel, Roland and Sven for the help and patience with me) plus help from others (Claudio, David, Giancarlo, Henry, Kim, Mike, Paolo) plus kind permission from Austin Meyer Laminar Research (without it wouldn’t be possible) to use and rework the XP11 objects, that’s all behind the new “X-Europe” scenery for XP11 and XP10. I hope you remember when you download and use the scenery. 😉

Thanks to all helping me reaching the finish line! :-))

In a few days, X-Europe will be online to download. It’s a new scenery using XP11 objects like the standard scenery, but the objects are not set on an autogen rule, they are set like they are in OpenStreetMap (OSM) data, which leads to a more realistic (some people say stunning) look and feel. Meanwhile the release candidate is generated, you could see results of different demo flights with older versions on YouTube, even a comparism between various scenery configurations (Ortho4Xp, Standard, X-Europe):

This is the first step with default objects for Europe, the second step will bring localized objects for countries, so you will recognize where you fly if you simply look outside the window. It’s planned to make small country packages for e.g. Italy/Mediterranean area, France, the Alps, Denmark, GB, Norway and so on. The country packages will change objects in this country or region to typical objects.

XP11.10 updates for VFR-Landmarks and Forests sceneries

To be compatible with X-Plane 11.10+ and the changes of the library system, there are small updates available for the VFR-Landmarks and the Forests sceneries.

You don’t need to download all the stuff, just the update files. After downloading, extract the update to the scenery folder, run the script which copies referenced files outside the scenery (which I’m not allowed to publish) into the scenery, that’s it! There is a script for Windows and a script for Linux (thanks to Daniel).

New simHeaven Forests available

This scenery replaces the forests of XP11 with forests, orchards, vineyards, tree lines and trees derived from OSM data. For the objects, original forests and trees of XP11 are used, so there is no additional library necessary.

Best for use of photo sceneries, but even with standard scenery this could be a win, try out and see. Original forests of XP11 are excluded for all covered tiles, but autogen trees in cities still remain visible.

No additional library needed, should be compatible with XP10 too.
