Compatibility with X-Plane 11

x-plane11

The public beta of X-Plane 11 has arrived, first flights and tests show that all sceneries and libraries available here on this website are fully compatible with X-Plane 11.

All you have to do is simply copy your sceneries and libraries from “…/X-Plane 10/Custom Scenery/ “to “…/X-Plane 11/Custom Scenery/” and after starting XP11, adjust the entries of scenery_packs.ini to the recommended order.

Have fun using SimHeaven sceneries and X-Plane 11! 🙂

Europe mixed version

Only for Europe is a mixed version of w2xp Europe available. This is the recommended version for Europe.

It is a mix between the normal and the osm version of Europe April 2016. Osm version is used in a rectangular of +44-007 (southwest of France) and +54+016 (northeast of Germany), where OSM data is pretty good. Outside of the rectangular is the normal version with smart exclusions and additional autogen objects used. This will be the future version of Europe.

Users may ask, what are the changes in osm version to the normal version published before.

The normal version has smart exclusions to allow autogen objects in regions where OSM data is poor. The osm version has no smart exclusions and thus no additional autogen objects, you only will see what in OSM is.

In most cases the osm version is faster (~10%) due to less exclusions and less objects (there are no objects which in reality not exist). Otherwise you could see some poor looking cities or regions as these lack of OSM data.

Central European countries have a good quality and quantity of OSM data, so you can use the osm version without much difference on objects. Forother regions decide for yourself, which version fits best to your needs.
